The word Eclectic first inspired me by my beloved feathered friend Kally.
When early European explorers first made their way to the South Pacific, they discovered one of the world’s most beautiful parrots, the Eclectus.
Therefore, the name Eclectus is derived from the word eclectic because of the sexually dimorphic coloration of the male and female. The females are varying shades of brilliant red, blue, lavender, and purple. The males are varying shades of green with an orange beak and splashes of red color on their wing bends and sides.
As I grew curious about the origin of the name Eclectic, I discovered that it resemble me to a tee.
So what is the meaning of the word Eclectic?
The English word eclectic first appeared in the seventeenth century to describe philosophers who did not belong to a particular school of thought. As for example eclectic religion, it seeks to select what is good from all religions. Eclecticism, a philosophical movement, artistic movement, etc.
A person that has no preferences of one particular diet, philosophy, politics, fashion instead chooses the best of various styles and ideas. Somebody that is not looking for a particular teaching or belief, but borrows opinions from different systems. One who chooses in various genres (literature, music, painting, film) as she or he pleases without becoming subject to one.
As I realize from past experiences that being open minded to all that is new and all that is past can be very intuitive. It feels great to be open to several trends and to have a wide variety of tastes.
Therefore my blogs will be of different styles, topics, opinions gathered by my inspirations and an array of many sources.
